At ENHANCE Ontario (EO), we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal health information (PHI) in accordance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). ​​

Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) is a legislative framework enacted in Ontario, Canada, aimed at safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of individual personal health information (PHI). It provides guidelines regarding the collection, utilization, and dissemination of PHI by healthcare providers and organizations. The act is designed to ensure that PHI is maintained in a secure and confidential manner, while simultaneously permitting healthcare professionals access to the necessary data required to deliver optimal care.
​Health Information Network Provider (HINP)
EO is a Health Information Network Provider (HINP), that helps to facilitate the secure electronic sharing of PHI between health information custodians. In the role of a HINP, EO manages numerous electronic health information services that comply with the HINP requirements set out in PHIPA and respective regulations.
